Alameda Short Hop Ferry
The Alameda Short Hop launched on Monday, November 8.
The Alameda Short Hop ferry route provides a 10-minute connection between the Main Street Alameda Ferry Terminal on Alameda Island and the Oakland Ferry Terminal at Jack London Square. This is a perfect solution for Alamedans working in or visiting Oakland on weekdays, with six trips to Oakland (mostly in the morning) and 11 trips to Main Street Alameda (all in the afternoon and evening).
The Alameda Short Hop is especially great for bicyclists, those connecting to Amtrak (just a 10-minute walk from the Oakland Ferry Terminal) and anyone who wants to avoid getting in the Webster or Posey tubes.
The Alameda Short Hop is currently only available in both directions on weekdays. There is service from Main Street Alameda to Oakland on weekends, but no trips from Oakland to Main Street Alameda. See the Oakland & Alameda ferry schedule for information on these trips.
