The Alameda Seaplane ferry route provides direct weekday commute service between Alameda's Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal and Downtown San Francisco.

Note: Riders traveling from Alameda to Downtown San Francisco before 9:50 a.m. on weekdays please use the Alameda Seaplane route as there is no San Francisco departures on the Oakland & Alameda route before 9:50 a.m.

The Alameda Seaplane route provides direct ferry service between Alameda's Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal and Downtown San Francisco during peak commute periods. The Oakland & Alameda route provides direct ferry service between Oakland and San Francisco during peak commute hours as well as midday, evening and weekend service between Oakland, the Main Street Alameda Ferry Terminal and San Francisco.

Take the Bus or Ride Your Bike

A great option to get to the Alameda Seaplane ferry route is AC Transit's Line 78 pilot, connecting the Fruitvale BART station to the Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal with stops along the length of Alameda Island. If you use Clipper on the bus and the boat, you'll receive a transfer discount equal to local bus fare. That essentially makes the bus ride free.

Feel like using two wheels instead of four? The Alameda Seaplane ferry route has excellent access and amenities for cyclists. Use the Cross Alameda Trail, a low-stress protected bikeway, to access Seaplane Lagoon from the west half of Alameda Island. Secure bike lockers are available at the ferry terminal, and you can bring your bicycle on board at no charge as well.
