General Questions 

Are you still selling ferry tickets via the Passage: Transit Ticketing App?

No, all mobile ferry tickets can be purchased via the new San Francisco Bay Ferry app on Apple and Android devices. Download and purchase ferry tickets here. 

What if I still have an unused Passage: Transit Ticket?

If you provided your email when purchasing your original Passage: Transit Ticket, you will receive an email with a replacement San Francisco Bay Ferry ticket. Once you've received this email, please download the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app and create your account to claim your replacement ticket.  

Can I still use my Passage: Transit Ticket to board a ferry?

No. All tickets from the Passage Transit Ticketing app are no longer valid for boarding. If you have any unused tickets from the Passage: Transit Ticketing app and you provided your email for this original ticket in the past, you will be sent a replacement ticket via email. To claim this ticket for boarding, please download the the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app and create an account. More information can be found on our Ticket & App page. 

Why are Passage: Transit Tickets no longer valid?

With the launch of the new San Francisco Bay Ferry app, we are simplifying the way ferry riders purchase tickets. Tickets are now available exclusively on the San Francisco Bay Ferry app, on our website or onboard the vessel.

Can my Passage: Transit Ticket be exchanged for a Oracle Park or Chase Center ferry ticket?

No. Passage: Transit Tickets can only be exchanged via email for tickets on the San Francisco Bay Ferry app for regularly scheduled service. 


Ticket Exchanges 

We have transitioned all ferry tickets to the new San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app and all unused Passage: Transit Tickets are no longer valid for boarding. If you have provided your email to Passage: Transit Ticketing in the past and still have an unused ticket, you should receive an email with a replacement ticket. Replacement tickets can be claimed by downloading the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app and creating an account. 

What if I don't receive an email with my new San Francisco Bay Ferry ticket?

For assistance with this issue, please reach out to us via our customer service portal. 

Do I need to create a Passage: Transit Ticketing account to exchange my ticket?

No. You will receive an email to claim your ticket in the San Francisco Bay Ferry app. 

Do I still need to activate my ticket on the Passage: Transit Ticketing app prior to boarding?

No. Tickets on the Passage: Transit Ticketing app are no longer valid for any San Francisco Bay Ferry route. Please download the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app to claim or purchase ferry tickets. 

How do I know how much time is left on my new ticket in the San Francisco Bay Ferry app?

Once your activate your ticket, the app will let you know how many minutes you have left to use the mobile ticket. 

How do I activate multiples tickets?

Please let the crew know how many people are in your party when disembarking the vessel and showing your mobile ticket. 

What do I do if my new ticket on the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app is taking a long time to display?

All phones operate at different speeds. Some older devices use operating systems that might not work as fast. Please give yourself plenty of time to activate your ticket in the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app. 

What if my ticket expires before I can use it?

Please remember to activate your ticket while en route to be ready to show to crew upon exiting the vessel. If your ticket expires before you have had a chance to show the crew, you will need to purchase another ticket. 

When should I activate my exchanged ticket in the San Francisco Bay Ferry app?

Please activate your pass when the ferry is docking at your final destination and be ready to display it to the deckhand at the gate. An internet connection is only required for purchasing a pass. It is NOT required to activate it.


Payment Questions 

What forms of payment can be used to purchase tickets on the new San Francisco Bay Ferry app?

The San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay and all major credit and debit cards. 

Can I get a receipt for my exchanged ticket?

The email in which you received your exchanged ticket is your documentation that your ticket was exchanged from the Passage: Transit Ticketing app. 

Where are my purchased tickets on the new San Francisco Bay Ferry app?

Purchased tickets will appear in the 'My Tickets' tab on the left hand side of the screen.  

How do I get a refund?

Refunds will be handled on a case by case basis. For assistance, please reach out to our customer service portal.

Will my credit card information be stored on the San Francisco Bay Ferry App?

Yes, your payment information will be stored in the San Francisco Bay Ferry app.

How can I update my credit card information in the new San Francisco Bay Ferry app?

You can add or remove credit/debit cards from your account by going to the 'Payment Methods' screen.


Other Questions 

Will the new San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app track my location?

Yes, if the location permission is enabled on your device, the San Francisco Bay Ferry app tracks your location to show you the most relevant ferry information. 

What happens if my phone battery dies before I can show my ticket at boarding?

You are responsible for ensuring you have a charged and functional phone to activate and display your mobile ticket to the deckhand. If you are unable to display an active ticket, you will have to purchase a paper ticket or use Clipper.

Is Clipper fare when riding the ferry the same as the fare when purchasing from the San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app?

Yes. 

Can I use my new San Francisco Bay Ferry ticket as fare with other transit agencies?

No. Tickets in the San Francisco Bay Ferry app are only valid for San Francisco Bay Ferry services. 

Can I use the new San Francisco Bay Ferry mobile app to purchase gameday tickets for Oracle Park and Chase Center?

Yes.
