SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco Bay Ferry today announced it will offer ferry service from Oakland and Alameda to Chase Center for all home games during the Golden State Valkyries’ inaugural season.
“We’re delighted at the opportunity to help Valkyries fans travel across the Bay to cheer on this exciting new team,” said Jim Wunderman, Chair of SF Bay Ferry’s Board of Directors. “Hosting the region’s first WNBA team is a testament to the passion and energy of Bay Area sports fans, and we’re proud to be a part of the experience.”
Service will begin with the opening regular season home game on Friday, May 16, 2025. Throughout the season, ferries will depart from Oakland and Alameda approximately an hour before tip-off and depart from the Pier 48 Ferry Dock, which is a short walk away from Chase Center, 30 minutes after the final buzzer. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made on the San Francsico Bay Ferry app or at sfbf.mobi/valkyries.
“Arriving by water to watch basketball might be the most ‘Bay Area’ experience possible,” said Golden State Valkyries President Jess Smith. “This ferry service creates a seamless connection between our Oakland and Alameda supporters and our San Francisco home court, embodying our commitment to being a truly regional team that represents the entire Bay Area. We look forward to seeing fans sail across the Bay on May 16th for our historic home opener.”
Future SF Bay Ferry service will include service to the new Mission Bay Ferry Landing at 16th Street, expected to open in 2028.
