Mike Henneberry Appointed to SF Bay Ferry Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO – The California State Senate Rules Committee has appointed Mike Henneberry to the San Francisco Bay Ferry Board of Directors. Mr. Henneberry will join the Board at its next meeting on August 14.

Mr. Henneberry replaces Jeff DelBono on the Board. Mr. DelBono, a retired Alameda fire division chief, served on the Board from 2014 until stepping down this summer.

His work on behalf of this Board has provided an unmistakable contribution to the success of San Francisco Bay Ferry, and we will miss him.”

Mr. Henneberry is a Bay Area native and resides in Alameda. He is the Recording Secretary for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 853, serves on the Alameda Labor Council Executive Committee, and is a former Chair of the Alameda Planning Board. Mr. Henneberry’s father and grandfather both worked as mariners, and his father proposed to his mother onboard a ferry in the San Francisco Bay.

The SF Bay Ferry Board of Directors is a five-member body. Three members, including the chair and vice chair, are appointed by the governor. One member is appointed by the Senate Rules Committee. One member is appointed by the Assembly Speaker. The Board of Directors is the policy-making body for the agency.

Mr. Henneberry will serve the remainder of Mr. DelBono’s vacated term, which expires on January 1, 2030. He joins Chair Wunderman, Vice Chair Monique Moyer, Director Jessica Alba and Director Pippin Dew on the Board.
