Between Tuesday, June 24 & Friday, June 27, low tides will affect select ferry trips arriving and departing from Vallejo. During this time, some trips will not serve the Vallejo Ferry Terminal and will only operate out of Mare Island. Free bus shuttles will be available for all affected trips.
SOUTHBOUND RIDERS
Morning ferry riders at the Vallejo Terminal can take a timed bus shuttle to Mare Island to board the ferry. Shuttles depart 15 minutes before each Mare Island ferry departure listed below in front of the Vallejo Terminal facility.
NORTHBOUND RIDERS
For impacted morning trips arriving at Mare Island only, shuttles buses will carry northbound riders from Mare Island to the Vallejo Terminal, departing shortly after the ferry arrives. Afternoon ferry service will operate normally as scheduled. Shuttles to Mare Island will be available after the following Vallejo arrivals for riders who parked at Mare Island in the morning: 3:20 PM, 4:40 PM, 5:35 PM.

Mare Island Ferry Terminal
Limited free parking is available at the Mare Island Ferry Terminal on a first come, first served basis. Free bus shuttles will provide access for ferry riders who parked at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal Garage.
Vallejo Ferry Terminal
Paid parking is available across the street at the Vallejo Terminal Parking Garage. Riders can catch the free bus shuttles to Mare Island ferry departures directly in front of the Vallejo Terminal entrance.
BUS SHUTTLES: Bus shuttles will pick up/drop off directly in front of each ferry terminal entrance. Staff will be on-hand to direct passengers to awaiting shuttles for select ferry trips.
San Francisco Bay Ferry is working diligently to minimize service impacts caused by low tide events. Fortunately, these events can be predicted well in advance, which allows the agency to plan accordingly.
One short-term solution is terminal dredging, typically conducted every few years. While effective, dredging is both costly and temporarily disruptive to ferry operations. To address this long-term challenge, we are actively planning to reconfigure the Vallejo Ferry Terminal. This will include positioning the ferry dock further out into the water, improving terminal access.
