Main Street Alameda Ferry Terminal Refurbishment Project
The Main Street Alameda Ferry Terminal Refurbishment Project involved repairing and replacing the existing aging terminal infrastructure and bringing the site into compliance with current seismic safety requirements. Improvements included bridge and foundation replacement, gangway replacement, float demolition and replacement, as well as electrical and water utility upgrades.
Construction was completed over 10 weeks in late 2023. The terminal was closed during this time. The project cost a total of $10 million and was funded with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grants and Alameda County transportation sales tax revenues through Measure B/BB.
Manson Construction Co. was responsible for final design, demolition, construction, and fabrication of ferry terminal components. Jacobs served as WETA’s construction manager, ensuring the project met requirements and opened on time. The team worked closely with the City of Alameda to ensure project delivery.
