San Francisco Bay Ferry to Host Vallejo Ferry Fest on April 18th

Festival Celebrates Ferry Service, Brings Together Mare Island and Vallejo Community

SAN FRANCISCO |  APRIL 7, 2026 – San Francisco Bay Ferry will be hosting its third bi-annual Ferry Fest event in Vallejo on Saturday, April 18th at the Mare Island Historic Core. This festival celebrates the ferry service that connects Vallejo to the Bay Area, and brings together the Vallejo and Mare Island communities with a day of family-friendly fun on the waterfront.

“The Vallejo route is a key component of our service, carrying thousands of riders daily. We are proud to offer reliable, comfortable and affordable service that connects Vallejo-area commuters and visitors to downtown San Francisco,” said Seamus Murphy, Executive Director of San Francisco Bay Ferry. “The Vallejo Ferry Festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate not only our service, but also our many partner organizations that make Vallejo such an incredible community.”

Several local community organizations are partnering with the SF Bay Ferry to make this event possible, including Mare Island Company, Mare Island Historic Foundation, Free Music Collective, Visit Vallejo, and 707 Day. The festival will take place from 11am to 4pm, and feature live entertainment including ukulele players and a DJ, speakers including Assemblymember Lori Wilson and WETA Board of Directors member Pippin Dew, games and activities for children, local community organizations tabling to offer resources, local food vendors, free shuttle service, raffle prizes for attendees, and more.

“Mare Island has a rich, storied past — and an exciting future is being shaped while preserving that unique history and character. The island’s rare combination of natural beauty, recreational areas, and emerging hospitality, business and entertainment experiences will make it a compelling destination for the Bay Area and beyond. The Mare Island Company is pleased to be collaborating with SF Bay Ferry to bring visitors to the island to discover all it has to offer,” remarked Rebecca Kotch, Vice President of Marketing for The Mare Island Company.

Attendance for the festival is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP beforehand to enter into a raffle held at the event, featuring prizes from SF Bay Ferry and local organizations. Free ferry shuttle service is offered throughout the day from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal to the Mare Island Terminal. There is limited parking available on Mare Island.
