Special schedules will be in effect from Saturday, November 8 through Tuesday, November 11 on the Vallejo Route to accomodate terminal dredging at the Vallejo Terminal. As a result, the Vallejo Ferry Terminal will be temporarily closed and ferry service will operate out of Mare Island only during this 4-day period. See below for how to ride on each day.
SOUTHBOUND RIDERS
On Saturday & Sunday, a special weekend schedule will be in effect with departures leaving from Mare Island only. Ferries will not stop in Vallejo on their way to San Francisco. Riders catching the ferry to San Francisco will need to get to the Mare Island Ferry Terminal for each departure. There will be no free bus shuttles available on this day.
NORTHBOUND RIDERS

San Francisco-bound riders can board a free bus shuttle in front of the Vallejo Terminal entrance bound for Mare Island to board the ferry. Bus shuttles depart from the Vallejo Terminal curbside 15 minutes before each Mare Island ferry departure. Upon arriving at Mare Island, riders will transfer between the bus shuttle to the ferry.
NORTHBOUND RIDERS
On Monday, a special weekday schedule will be in effect with ferries arriving at Mare Island only. Vallejo-bound ferry riders will disembark in Mare Island. On Monday only, riders can then board a waiting bus shuttle to complete the trip to the Vallejo Terminal & parking area.

On Tuesday, a special weekday schedule will be in effect with departures leaving from Mare Island only. Ferries will not stop in Vallejo on their way to San Francisco. Mare Island Ferry Terminal
Limited free parking is available at the Mare Island Ferry Terminal on a first come, first served basis. Free bus shuttles will provide access for ferry riders who parked at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal Garage on Monday 11/10 only.
Vallejo Ferry Terminal
Paid parking is available across the street at the Vallejo Terminal Parking Garage. On Monday, 11/10 only, riders can catch the free bus shuttles to Mare Island ferry departures directly in front of the Vallejo Terminal entrance at the bus curbside.
SHUTTLE BUSES ON MONDAY 11/10 ONLY
Free bus shuttles will pick up/drop off directly in front of each ferry terminal entrance on Monday ONLY. Shuttles will not be available on Saturday, Sunday or Tueday.
San Francisco Bay Ferry is working diligently to minimize service impacts caused by dredging efforts. Dredging, typically conducted every few years is the process of removing silt buildup from the river bed. This process allows for ferries to continue operating in the shallow waters around the Vallejo Terminal. While effective, dredging is both costly and temporarily disruptive to ferry operations. To address this long-term challenge, we are actively planning to reconfigure the Vallejo Ferry Terminal. This will include positioning the ferry dock further out into the water, improving terminal access.
