Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle Expected to Resume August 21

ALAMEDA, Calif. – San Francisco Bay Ferry today announced that the Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle is expected to resume service on Friday, August 21.

Last week, Woodstock, the 31-passenger pontoon boat serving the route connecting Alameda Landing and Oakland’s Jack London Square, suffered multiple equipment malfunctions that rendered two separate engines unusable. Replacement engines are currently on their way to the Bay Area. Service will resume following installation and thorough testing.

In the meantime, travelers are encouraged to use SF Bay Ferry’s Alameda Short Hop or AC Transit Line 96 until the Water Shuttle resumes service. AC Transit lines 19, 30, and 51A also connect West Alameda to Downtown Oakland. Travelers are also encouraged to subscribe to BayAlerts for the latest information on the service by visiting sfbf.mobi/bayalerts.
