About Our Fleet

ABOUT THE FLEET

SF Bay Ferry presently operates a fleet of 12 passenger-only vessels on four service routes across the San Francisco Bay. Together they carry more than 2.7 million riders from nine Bay Area ferry terminals.

The WETA 2016 Strategic Plan envisions a robust network in 2035 of 16 terminals and 44 vessels serving five times today’s ridership – a 740% increase in peak capacity – capable of providing 15 minute service frequency during peak commute hours.

The Hydrus, launched in April 2017, is the first of seven new vessels to join WETA’s SF Bay Ferry fleet over the next seven years. This new class of vessels – the Hydrus is the cleanest 27 knot, 400 passenger ferry in the world – is setting the standard for low emissions and minimized environmental impact.

All of our ferries are wheelchair accessible and provide amenities including onboard restrooms, room for bikes, and snack & beverage concessions.
